Hot Off The Press and Gifts Galore

Stephanie Campisi's The Ugly Dumpling and Paul Czjak's Seaver the Weaver are featured on the CBC's website!

Extra! Extra! Read All About Simple Machines!

The Kids' Book of Simple Machines by Kelly Doudna was featured and reviewed in The Citizen-Times (Asheville, NC) by a WNC Parent columnist!

The layout is clean and organized. The illustrations consist mostly of full-color photographs, which are beautifully done, showing each step of the project close-up and in high-contrasting colors. The best part of the book is how the author points out machines people are likely to see every day: seesaws, window blinds, front teeth (they are wedges!), scissors and so on.

Adventure.

Bee Buzz

Debut author Erin Petti's The Peculiar Haunting of Thelma Bee has taken the world by storm and it doesn't even publish until September! This week, Thelma won over the heart of Margi Preus, author of Newbery Honor winner Heart of a Samurai and Enchantment Lake:

A full-of-surprises heroine, her intrepid friends, ghosts and monsters, dark wizards, and good witches, mad bulls and wild cats, a haunted jewelry box and spooky goo ––there's something for everyone in this rollicking fun read!

Stingray City Goes on Tour

The blogtour for book 3 in the Tristan Hunt and the Sea Guardians series, Stingray City, commenced this week! Kicking it off was 5 Girls Book Review:

This was another great book to this series. I must say, that this whole series has been absolutely, without a doubt, amazingly awesome! I LOVE IT! It's my new favorite series.

Then Kid Lit Reviews joined in on the fun as well:

Tristan Hunt and the Sea Guardians is a great choice for both boys and girls, age 7 and up. Even adults will love Tristan and his friends ... Readers will feel the water at their heels, as sea creatures once again help the teens in their quest...

Mom Read It jumped aboard the tour too!

This third installment is the most fun Tristan Hunt adventure yet. Ms. Prager has hit her stride with this third book; her writing flows smoothly and she's as comfortable with these characters as they are with one another. There's more joking around now; more confidence; the kids are a little more inventive with their strategies and bolder when it comes to taking initiative
